International Statistical Institute (ISI)

Established in 1885,
ISI is one of the oldest scientific associations operating in the modern world. The ISI is a non-profit,
non-governmental organisation and has consultative status by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

International Association for Statistical Computing (IASC)

IASC was founded during the 41st Session of the ISI in 1977, as a Section of the ISI. The IASC objectives are to foster world-wide interest in effective statistical computing and to exchange technical knowledge through international contacts and meetings.

The Asian Regional Section of the IASC (IASC-ARS)

The Asian Regional Section (ARS) of International Association for Statistical Computing (IASC) is established by the Council in accordance with art. 12 of IASC Statutes in 1993 by the name of East Asian Regional Section (EARS) and the name is changed to Asian Regional Section in 1998.

Feng Chia University -Taiwan (FCU)

Established in 1961, FCU has earned the reputation of becoming one of the most promising comprehensive universities in Taiwan. FCU is ranked 151st, Times Higher Education of the UK announced its 2010 rankings of the top 200 universities in Asia.

Department of Statistics-FCU

The primary guiding principle of the Department of Statistics is to provide students with a solid foundation in basic statistical theory with emphasis on application. The unique feature of the department is its integrated and comprehensive training in statistical and information sciences.

Department of Applied Mathematics-FCU

The pedagogical objective of various degree programs of the Department of Applied Mathematics is to develop student logic using mathematical models and quantitative techniques that can be applied to solve problems encountered in the physical, engineering, biological and behavioral sciences.

National Science Council (NSC)

Established on February 1, 1959, the National Science Council (NSC) of
the Executive Yuan (executive branch
of the Republic of China) is the highest government agency in Taiwan responsible for promoting the development of science and technology.
